How did you get into your line of work?

I've always been into writing, so I thought I should naturally work in a magazine. Eventually, I came to discover that writing is only about 20% of what I do at work. In the bigger picture though, I realized that what I do, is I create/produce stories. So I grew (and I'm still growing) into it. I started as an intern under the website of the magazine I work for now. I wasn't required to clock in hours though, so I stayed as long as half a year.

What about your work/passion do you enjoy the most?

I enjoy getting to work with and meeting the most creative people in the industry; local and sometimes from abroad when brands bring over people. It's inspiring - being consistently in awe of the talents you're surrounded with, especially if you find that team of people that work so well together. It also reminds you to step up your game so you can keep up.

What are your upcoming projects?

I'm working on the lineup of beauty stories for March already! It's hard when there's no info or trends yet to work with this early, but it does challenge your creativity.

What is your biggest motivation/What gets you started in the morning?

I'm super miserable in the mornings (lol). It's hard to get motivation, especially when work is overwhelming. It's not ALWAYS "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life", because I do love what I do, but it's not always easy or happy. I guess I'm lucky because I'm naturally early for everything (even waking up, sadly haha), and deadlines!

What are your 2016 goals?

I want to learn how to be a people person. It's really a life and work skill that I have to develop because right now, too many people all at once can be overwhelming for me.

What is your definition of style?

It's both how you see yourself AND how you want others to see you, translated into your look, I guess.

What do you love most about traveling?

The best part of traveling is when I can do it alone - I'm generally an anxious person and it's a way for me to stop being so paranoid. I like moving at my own pace, according to my own plans. It's like my way of forcing myself to see that there are parts of the world that aren't in ruins and that there are stranges that still have kind hearts.

In one sentence, what's your advice for Filipinos pursuing passion projects?

Look at the big picture and see yourself in it. :)
